Free Parking 

4th ave parking gargage image of entranceWe strive to make parking in Franklin easy, accessible and FREE.  On street parking is limited to two-hour increments.  Parking in our two parking garages does not have a time limit and head in parking is required. The garages are located on 2nd Ave. South and 4th Ave. South. Each has two electric vehicle charging spaces, as well as a designated motorcycle parking area.  There are 300 spaces in each garage.

Paid Parking

Paid parking is available also in the downtown area. These lots are provided by private companies.

Time restricted parking is enforced 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. Time restricted parking is not enforced on weekends and Cty holidays. The following are City observed holidays: New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, and Christmas Day.

How long can I park in a city parking garage or lot?

No vehicle shall remain in a city parking garage or lot which is owned, leased, or maintained by the City for more than 24 hours or the vehicle may be impounded.

Who can park in an electric vehicle charging space?

No vehicle shall be parked in a public parking space designated as electric vehicle parking unless the vehicle is actively charging when parked in the electric vehicle charging space. These spaces are operated by BLINK and the company charges a fee to the electric vehicle user. Once the vehicle is done charging, the owner should move their vehicle so another person may be able to use the charging service.

Can a citizen request an ADA parking space?

Yes, the City has adopted the accessibility guidelines for pedestrian facilities in the public right of way.  The City of Franklin is committed to installing truly accessible ADA compliant on street parking spaces to meet the needs of our community members with disabilities.
