***UPDATE FOR AUGUST 2025***

The finish line is in sight! The Downtown/Lewisburg water project has made tremendous progress and is now entering its final stretch.

All water and sanitary sewer installations are complete, marking a major milestone for the project. Crews are currently hard at work on the storm sewer near E. Fowlkes, Adams Street, and Lewisburg Avenue, with Winstead Court next on the list.

Once this phase wraps up, the focus will shift to the final touches: milling, paving, and striping. That work kicks off at 5th and Main on the night of Sunday, September 14.

If all stays on schedule, the project will be fully complete by mid-October. Thank you for your patience and cooperation throughout this process!

The Downtown Area/Lewisburg Avenue water and sewer improvements project includes the replacement of the water and sanitary sewer lines along Lewisburg Avenue from 5 Points to Stewart Street and Berry Circle to 4th Avenue.

A letter went out to residents on June 14, 2024 regarding a neighborhood meeting.
