The Compost Facility is closed for compost sales beginning Monday, October 6, 2025.  The facility will resume sales on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Regular compost facility hours are:

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 7:00am-2:00pm

City of Franklin, TN Compost Facility Presentation

Below are the steps you will need to take to purchase compost:

• Purchase your cubic yard voucher at the Billing and Licensing Office, located at 204 9th Avenue South,  615-794-4572.
• Redeem your vouchers Mon., Wed., and Fri. ONLY, between the hours of 7:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
• Compost can be loaded into open bed pickup trucks, trailers, and dump trucks only

 Here is some more basic information about our compost: 

• The compost comes in screened and unscreened. 

• Cost is: Screened = $30/yd, Unscreened = $20/yd.

To calculate how much compost you will need, you can use this formula:

• Length x width x depth / 27 = Cubic Yards. 

For example if your space is; 4ft length x 8ft width x 1.5ft depth / 27 = 1.8 Cubic Yards
