The 2025-2026 Leaf Season has ended. If you still have leaves that need to be picked up, you may bag them in brown biodegradable yard waste bags and place them out with your garbage on your regular trash collection day for Sanitation and Environmental Services to pickup.
Updates for the 2026-2027 Leaf Season will be made in September 2026. Check back then for new information. Thank you!
Leaf Zone Map
Below is a map to let you know what zone you are in. The city is divided into two zones, the Green zone and the Orange zone. The Green zone runs the entire length of the city north of Highway 96. The Orange zone runs the entire length of the city south of Highway 96. Each zone is picked up on a bi-weekly basis and holidays are excluded.
Note: This map represents the zone dividing line only. If you have questions about your specific subdivision, please call us at 615-791-3254 or email us at LeafCollection@franklintn.gov
Remember these rules when placing your leaves out for collection:
- Leaves must be placed in the front of your home. We do not pick up leaves from the side of corner lot homes or in alleyways.
- Place leaves in the grass strip area along the curb or in the gutter in front of the curb
- Please leave at least ten feet (10') between your leaf pile and your mailbox or any other objects such as vehicles, motorcycles, or other objects. If leaves are too close to objects we will not be able to vacuum them.
- If no grass strip area is present, place the leaves as close to the street as possible
- Do not place leaves within five feet (5') of a stormwater drain
- Do not place leaves on center medians or islands
- Do not place your leaves in your subdivisions' "common area"
- Please ensure that your leaves are free of debris, i.e. sticks, pine straw, rocks, foreign objects like pumpkins or bricks, etc.
If any of these rules were not observed, your leaves will be skipped due to safety concerns for our crew members, equipment, citizens', and their property. If you have any questions please email us at leafcollection@franklintn.gov, or call us at 615-791-3254.
Other information about leaf pickup

- Be aware that if your leaves are not ready by 7:00am on the day the truck comes through your neighborhood, your leaves will not be picked up that week.
- You may also choose to bag your leaves and yard waste in biodegradable brown bags and place it at your curb with your trash on your regularly scheduled trash day all year if you prefer.
- During inclement weather events, leaf pickup may be suspended due to the need to prepare for the weather event. Please be patient with us as we navigate those events.
