The Franklin Police Department Records Section is located in the main lobby of Police Headquarters, 900 Columbia Avenue. Free parking is available on the south side, adjacent to Plaza Street.
City code requires that any business or residence with an alarm system obtain a permit. The permit fee is $10.00, and permits expire every December 31. Yearly renewal is $5.00.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation offers citizens the ability to request criminal background checks that encompass the entire state of Tennessee for a fee of $29. Visit the TBI's website to obtain a Tennessee adult criminal history. For more information, call the TBI at (615) 744-4000.
The FBI allows individuals to obtain their own nationwide criminal record for a $45 fee. For more information on this option, call (877) 783-4187.
