URBAN BIRDING - Green Spaces

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED
The Park at Harlinsdale Farm, 239 Franklin Road

Explore Franklin's green spaces and discover the many different bird species that depend on them for food and shelter.  We will search for the early migrants returning from the tropics, as well as the winter residents getting ready to leave for their northern nesting grounds.  Appropriate for ages 12 and up.  Led by Susan Bradfield. 

KIDS ART FESTIVAL OF TENNESSEE

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED

Attendees will have fun with many hands on workshops and more!   We welcome all Tennessee K-12th grade artists to apply to display your original pieces in this juried exhibit.  We will accept and include a wide variety of art pieces in multi-media platforms.  This event also includes stage performers who can act, sing, play an instrument or write poetry!   The Kids Arts Festival also allows for young artists to sell their original artwork to festival goers.   Click here for more info, including exhibit, performance and art sale applications.

It's spring migration on this hike.  We will be searching for the many colorful species returning from the tropics to nest in our area, or to take a refueling break on their way to nesting grounds further north.  Appropriate for ages 12 and up.  Led by Susan Bradfield. 

TOUCH A TRUCK

Trucks, tractors, machines, police cars and more!  Enjoy entertainment, music and bounce houses!  Food trucks will be onsite for purchase. There will be a "No Horn Hour" from 5pm-6pm for the little ones!  Trucks, equipment, and vehicles of all shapes and sizes will gather at Jim Warren Park where children of all ages, with parent supervision, will be welcome to touch, climb-on, and explore these amazing pieces of equipment.  Music, inflatables and fun will also be available at this free family event.  Food will also be available for purchase.  Fire trucks, police cars, tractors, back hoes, tow trucks, and more! FLASHLIGHT CANDY CANE HUNT

Thursday, December 10 and Friday, December 11, 5pm & 7pm
Eastern Flank Battlefield Park, 1368 Eastern Flank Circle

The grounds of Eastern Flank Battlefield Park are sprinkled with candy canes ready to be eaten...grab your flashlight and help us hunt for the holiday treats! Kids will decorate treat bags for their candy canes before the hunt. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served. Participants must bring a flashlight, and all other supplies will be provided. Feel free to dawn a festive outfit for the event! This event is limited to 100 participants and PRE-REGISTRATION & ENTRY FEE WILL BE REQUIRED. The event fee is $5 per person (including adults). Registration begins November 16, 2020.
