The Water
The Pond at Harlinsdale contains EFFLUENT water, meaning it is NOT DRINKABLE and NOT SUITABLE for SWIMMING. The City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant supplies the effluent water (final processed water from the plant) to the pond as part of our storm water control system. The State of Tennessee defines it as this “...water without restrictions, with the exception that it cannot be for human consumption”. Typical uses for effluent water are lawn watering, golf course watering and nurseries watering.
The Harpeth River and Spencer Creek are regulated and managed by the State of Tennessee. All state regulations apply.
