City Court is held in the City Hall Board Room on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and starts promptly at 7:30 a.m. It is recommended that you park in the free parking garage located on Second Ave South (between Main Street and Church Street).

The Tennessee State Supreme Court has extended its order suspending court operations across the state.  Franklin City Court is now suspended for the month of April and is scheduled to resume on Tuesday, May 5th.  All persons scheduled for court during the month of April will be rescheduled and receive a letter and a phone call with their new date.  Please call the City Court Clerk’s Office at 615 794-5362 with any questions.   

3/13/20 Announcement: 

Franklin City Court IN-PERSON Court proceedings suspended for March.

In accordance with guidance of the TN Supreme Court all in person proceedings thru March 31st are postponed. 

Those with City of Franklin Court dates of:

  • Tuesday March 17th        are rescheduled for        April 28th
  • Tuesday, March 24th      are rescheduled for        May 5th
  • Tuesday, March 31st       are rescheduled for        May 12th

The Municipal Court provides a fair and impartial hearing for all citizens charged with a city ordinance violation, code violation, or traffic violation within the boundaries of the City of Franklin.

Franklin Court primarily handles the following issues:

  • Traffic citations
  • Parking citations
  • Fire code violations
  • Other city ordinance violations such as:
    • building codes
    • business regulations
    • noise and other ordinances that involve personal behavior 

To request a change to your court date, please call the number listed above.

Please check your court date thoroughly.  It is located near the bottom of the citation.
