The Franklin Fire Department Internship Program pays you to attend the FFD's Recruit Academy, gain state firefighting certifications, and prepare for a potential career in the fire service. Applications are expected to open and close in March.
Requirements
- Must be a recent high school graduate
- Must be 18 years old by the designated date in the application announcement
- Valid driver’s license
- Must pass written and physical tests before interviews
Academy Details
- 40 hours per week for approximately 19 weeks
- Pay rate is $20.40 per hour
- Interns serve as seasonal employees during the academy
- Upon successful completion, Interns may be considered for a firefighter position, and job offers may be made if vacancies are available
- Graduates earn Tennessee Firefighter I and II, and Emergency Medical Responder certifications, qualifying them to apply to fire departments across Tennessee and surrounding states
