08-04-2025-All clearing is complete for the new roadway. Middle Tennessee Electric will be clearing their acquired easements, and Vulcan is installing a new 8" high-pressure gas main through the project. Players Mill and Road of the Round Table will be closed to traffic beginning August 13, in order to install the gas main and begin building foundations for retaining walls located at these intersections. Removing overburden soil on the hill at the intersection near Road of the Round Table will begin to fill in the low areas of the new roadway alignment. These road closures will reopen at the end of the project (estimated 2028). Rock drilling is tentatively to begin August 28, and once the overburden soil is removed, then blasting will commence. All homes within 300 feet of the blast area will be surveyed before blasting begins (As per State of Tennessee requirements). See latest video of construction work.
