Franklin Fire Department to Conduct Fire Sprinkler Demonstrations in Honor of Home Fire Sprinkler Week

DATE – TODAY, Friday, May 17, 2019

TIME – Demonstrations will take place at 6:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

PLACE – Jim Warren Park, 705 Boyd Mill Avenue, Franklin, TN 37064, during Touch A Truck* 

WHAT - See firsthand how fire sprinklers work to put out flames!  The Franklin Fire Department will conduct live fire/automatic fire sprinkler demonstrations to kick off Home Fire Sprinkler Week, utilizing their Family Safety House. 

WHO - Franklin Fire Marshal Andy King will highlight recent fire sprinkler “saves” in Franklin, and discuss how fire sprinklers can also save lives and property in single family homes and commercial buildings.


Sponsored by the City of Franklin Parks Department, trucks, equipment, and vehicles of all shapes and sizes will gather at Jim Warren Park where children of all ages, with parent supervision, will be welcome to touch, climb-on, and explore these amazing pieces of equipment.  Music, inflatables and fun will be available at this free family event.  Food will also be available for purchase.  The event will take place from 5 – 8 p.m., with a “No Horn Hour” from 5 – 6 p.m.


Home Fire Sprinkler Week is a North America-wide campaign initiated by the National Fire Protection Association and the Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition to raise awareness of the growing dangers of home fires and the life-saving benefits of installing fire sprinklers in new homes. Many communities have committed to hosting events from May 19-25, 2019.
