Franklin, TN – Franklin Firefighters responded to a reported structure fire at the CoolSprings Galleria early this afternoon, an incident that was quickly identified as a minor electrical issue with no resulting injuries or significant property damage.
The Franklin Fire Department was dispatched at 12:06 PM to the Bath & Body Works store, located on the lower level of the mall, for a fire reported in a bathroom. Based on the initial call, a precautionary evacuation of the mall was initiated by the Franklin Police Department.
Upon arrival, firefighters found no smoke or active fire. According to Fire Marshal Andy King, the incident was determined to be a minor electrical arc confined to a single component within the store's bathroom. Franklin Fire crews, assisted by Brentwood Fire & Rescue, secured the power to the affected area and confirmed the scene was safe.
The mall evacuation was halted shortly after the situation was assessed, and the public was allowed back inside. King said that business at the mall was back to normal within about 30 minutes.
"I commend the store employees for their quick and appropriate action," said King. "They did exactly the right thing by calling 911 immediately. This allowed our crews, along with our public safety partners from Franklin Police, the Williamson County Sheriff's Office, and Brentwood Fire, to respond swiftly and ensure the safety of everyone at the mall."
