The Park at Harlinsdale Open for 4th of July Fireworks Viewing

Franklin— Thousands are expected to attend the popular Franklin on the Fourth Fireworks celebration on the square happening July 4th in Franklin and sponsored by the Franklin Lions Club,. The Park at Harlinsdale will open at 7:30 to provide a special viewing place for the fireworks show, sponsored by WAKM and the City of Franklin. The North Entrance on Franklin Road will open at 7:30 and people are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets to view the show. The fireworks are expected to begin at approximately 9:00 p.m.

No alcohol is allowed in City Parks. Fireworks and sparklers are illegal within Franklin City limits and are strictly prohibited in City Parks. The grass is dry in the park and sparks or flames could easily start a fire.

Buddy Blue Bag, the curbside recycling mascot, along with the new blue bag trucks will make their debut at the Franklin on the Fourth festival. Stop by for a free blue bag, information on the new curbside recycling program that begins July 12, and stickers for the kids.

Lorrie Morgan Headlining Free Concert on the Square
at Franklin’s July 4th Festival

FRANKLIN, TN, June 23, 2010 – Lorrie Morgan, country music singer, songwriter, entrepreneur and member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1984, highlights the festivities of the 14th annual “Franklin on the Fourth (FOT4)” festival. Co-hosted by the Franklin Lions Club and the City of Franklin, this home town, patriotic celebration returns to historic Downtown Franklin on Sunday, July 4, 2010, starting at noon. Ms. Morgan presents her free concert on the City Square beginning at 7:15 pm. “Never before has FOT4 had the caliber of talent as we do this year with our headliner Lorrie Morgan,” stated Franklin Lions Club president Joy Chapman.

Activities for this year’s expanded Franklin On The Fourth include 3 musical stages, a children’s patriotic costumed parade, community bands, a petting zoo, pony rides, street vendors, roaming street entertainers and much more. The festivities culminate with a spectacular fireworks display presented by the City of Franklin following Lorrie Morgan’s concert.

The festival is made possible by a partnership with the City of Franklin as well as sponsorships from community minded businesses to include Vulcan Materials Co., Williamson Medical Center, American Home Design, Franklin Synergy Bank, The JAM, Studio 202, Country Boy Restaurant,
