Gun Used by Franklin Man During Assault Determined to be Pellet Gun

Suspect Asked to Leave Establishment Pointed Gun at Patrons and Workers

Franklin, TN – Police arrested Federico Jasso Garcia, 39 of Franklin, Friday after identifying him as the man who pointed a gun towards an occupied restaurant earlier this month. At 10:00 pm on 12/13/2009, police were called to the Pueblo Real Restaurant, 1340 W. Main Street, after being alerted that a disgruntled patron pointed a shotgun at the restaurant’s entrance from his car after being asked to leave. A total of eight patrons and workers were inside the restaurant at the time of the incident. No one was hurt.

Major Crimes Unit Detectives credit the suspect’s identification and arrest to people in the restaurant who were able to provide detailed information about the suspect and his vehicle. The gun used by Garcia during the assault was recovered and found to be an air gun. Garcia, charged with eight counts of aggravated assault, remains in custody on an $80,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court at 2:00 pm December 31.
